Mid Week Sketch 09-13

I hope you like this week's sketch. Another good one for masculine pages, but I am sure you can work your own particular brand of magic and make it suit whatever photos you have to work with, feminine or masculine. I hope you're enjoying the sketches this year and finding them useful. I will be dotting some doubles in there somewhere too... look for this year's first double next week. But for now, time to get busy with some Twinchies (little 2 inch squares of scrappy fun).

And for our younger scrappers, pinwheel fun :-)

Oh, and I am happy to announce a couple of winners! The winner for the Home and Scrapped Blog Hop was Angie. Congratulations Angie you did very well. And the winner of my 100 Followers RAK is Sandy. Sandy, please email me your address so that I can post your prize off to you. I hope you both love your prizes and find them some happy places to live on your pages. :-)

Mid Week Sketch 08-13

Wednesday again, and a lovely sunny day it is here in Brisbane, although we are expecting a storm later. It is storm season though, so that's not unusual. We've had a fair bit of rain the last few days, and this morning has that clear, fresh feel to it that you get on a breezy, sunny day after rain. Love it.

For this week's sketch, trim a couple of 4x6 photos down a little to focus on the subjects a little more closely. Then have some fun making a luscious tag. I hope you like it.

February = Love Blog Hop

Home and Scrapped's February = Love Blog Hop

If you are here for the Home and Scrapped February = Love Blog Hop, welcome! The Hop officially begins at lunch time today. You should have come here from Angie’s blog, and after me, you need to move on to Kerri’s blog for your next clues. The Hop is exclusive to H&S members, but don’t despair if you aren’t a member – details below on how to become one.

February is the month of romantic love, although I like to celebrate all types of love as much as possible. Love is what makes the world goes around, after all. It’s totally essential for a fulfilled and productive life. And why be limited to romance? Apart from my beloved and my family, I love trees, and storms, and cats, and beautiful embroidery, and chicken dinners, and all sorts of little things that daily give me pleasure or make me glad to be here. If you have the eyes to see it, the world is a lovely place.

There are a few things you may not know about me… well, quite a lot probably, hehe, but here are four possibly interesting facts from my life about things I love:

My favourite flowers are daisies and violets.

I never had anything pink as a child, although I make up for that now a bit. I used to resent never having anything pink and always being the one in blue, but years later I realised that blue was my mother’s favourite colour.

I believe in fairies. How can they not be real? Don’t answer that… lalalalala

If I could live anywhere in the world, it would be in a stone cottage beside a forest overlooking a loch in Scotland (with a teleport machine to get me back to Australia to visit my family regularly, of course…)

It’s not true that I am obsessed with tidiness, despite what my children say. It’s just that if the house is tidy behind me, I feel that my creative time is really my own, because I’ve done my duty. And I do love my creative time and all the pleasures it brings me.

There are so many gorgeous quotes about love floating about the world…  and I’m supposed to choose one for this Hop… but who can choose one? Here’s a few I like. I hope that when you read them, they mean something to you too.

“I love you, not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. I love you, not only for what you have made of yourself, but for what you are making of me.” Roy Croft

“What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” Helen Keller

“Love doesn’t sit there like a stone, it has to be made, like bread; remade all of the time, made new.” Ursula Le Guin

“Tell me who admires you and loves you, and I will tell you who you are.” Charles Augustin Sainte-Beuve

“If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular?” Author Unknown

The word you need for your secret quote is IS

Enjoy your Hopping!

Now, one last thing… when you are doing your challenge pages for the H&S Cyber Crop this weekend, how about a little added challenge from me? I would love to see some beading or embroidery of some kind on at least one of your pages. If you do this, I will put your name in the draw for an extra little RAK from me!

Not a member of Home and Scrapped? Oh no! You’re missing out, it’s a great little forum, full of friends, old and new, who just like to have a nice time getting inspired, sharing, scrapping and hanging out together. We have lots of great challenges every month and there is no pressure to perform, it’s all just for fun and getting our stories told. And here is the prize we have on offer for one person who successfully completes all tasks on the Hop, one of my extra large flower packs (Flowers by Heather at Elsie & Gracehttp://www.etsy.com/shop/ElsieandGrace  )

Mid Week Sketch 07-13

I hope February is treating you well. I know it's the month of love and romance and all that, but this week's page is not quite so lovey dovey. I hope you will like it anyway. It's quite different to my usual sketches, but I like the funky retro look to it. If you don't have a 5x7 photo, feel free to use two 3.5x5 inch photos, or a 4x6 with a mat to make up the size.

And as for the circles, you can make rolled roses, lollipop flowers or use chipboard, buttons or whatever suits you. Check out that stash and get it on a page!

And for the young ones, the simplified 6 inch version:

Oh, and Happy Valentine's Day for tomorrow. I hope some love comes your way.

Mid Week Sketch 06-13

A nice girly page this week. What do you have in your stash you can make a pretty page with? Dig deep and  get out those pretties you have lurking in there. You can use a precut die cut base, or make your own by cutting circles from your scrap stash. It's a lot of fun to make your own, so don't be put off if you don't have a pre cut one.

And for the kids, a smaller, simpler version.
